I have just bought a uk spec 2002 daytona fighter(see show us yours),

Yesterday at full operating temo(82-83'c),the bike has developed a fueling fault,it is missing and seems to tickover on 2 cyls,

how do I fit the new plugs ???????

It had run fine for a week and 5-600 miles

I have bought plugs today and intend to fit,got as far as removing seats, undoing tank then saw all the wires and fuel pipes !!!

What next, the top of the airbox also looks a problem

I know this is already probably covered somewhere but I cant find it

what else could it be,it starts fine and runs welll until it reaches temp

Cheers in anticipation fellas.ladies

:???:

B1lly, I didn't think the Union Flag would be a popular item in Wales.

Back to topic...have you recently filled up? If so, did you get a receipt? May just have some bad gas and a receipt may get the dealer to pay for repairs, if needed.

Empty the tank (siphon) and use in the lawnmower. Put fresh fuel from another source in and see what happens.

thanks brad

I had wondered about fuel,I had gone from light on(low) to a full tank the night before on my way home, then parked up

The very next day the problem started,Garage had also dropped his fuel prices 3 pence a litre that day so wondering if he had a new batch in ??

Why would fuel give this problem only at normal temp, thats the puzzling thing ? Surely bad fuel is bad fuel,I have had this once before and it cleared when I introduced fresh fuel, not this bike but a xjr1300sp

What repair charges to you refer to,surely i can just run out this tankful and then use fresh ??

I may aswell fit plugs now as I have now bought them, any tips ??

B1lly, Recently one of the gas stations around here sold some bad gas...sediment in their tank. Those with complaints and receipts had their gas tanks removed, cleaned and reinstalled along with new fuel filters, all fuel lines flushed and a full tank of gas at the gas station owner's liability. No receipt? Money out of their own pocket to repair.

Moral of the story is to always get a receipt.

Why just when warm? I don't know. Several years ago I had a tank of bad gas in a Corvette. It ate the rubber floats for the fuel gauge along with some carb parts. The ***** would hardly burn with a match set to it, but the car started.
