The starter on my Super3 doesn't feel like starting anymore. 70K miles First symptom was start to start then a loud clunk. Put the bike in gear, rock it a bit then hit the button again. Now it just spins, whirrr...being thaes motors were very Kawasaki influenced, does a Kawi starter fit? Anew Triumph unit is almost $600!!! Any help would be appreciated.

Its your Sprag clutch.

A right sod to fix. The engine has to come apart. S'not going to be cheap I'm afraid. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I had mine done as a factory recall,see if you can get it done like that.

pete- how did you go about getting yours done?
is there anyway of seeing if my bike has had it done?

i'm curious- don't have any problems at the mo, but always useful to know for future.

if it was a recall at the time, is triumph obliged to do the work even now?
