I am thinking about buying a 955i. The reviews I have read (what few I could find online) have been positive as far as reliability. I found a "leftover "04" at a local dealer for $8500. I haven't found any 05 or 06's so I am having trouble figuring out if this is a fair price or not. What did you get your Daytona for and should I just keep looking for a later model. Thanks for your help guys. :???: :???: :???:

if it is brand new that is not a bad price at all.

Nope, I paid that as an OTD/w extended warranty price, but mine was a demo and had 1000 miles on it. The 04's and 05's are exactly the same, and the 06's had small changes according to Torque

Straight from the Mag
"2006 final year model gets new cylinder head and crankcases with reevised cooling hose for neater look. Other mods include a backlash eliminator gear for reduced noise: plus revised gearchange internals and swingarm"

If you know how to haggle, you can probably get a few hundred more off. I am sur ethey want it off the lot because it cost them money to have it sitting around for that long.

Ansky, Not a bad price at all. I bought a leftover '04 last year, so a price comparison would be an apples/oranges comparison. Location can also effect dealer pricing.

There's really no difference between the '04s and the '05s, other than color of the frame. The '06s look like they have the updated Sprint parts, but with '05 D955i engine specs. To me it'd be a 'bird in the hand...' moment.

It is a brand new bike (10 miles on). With out any real changes between 04-06 I will see how "motivated" they are to sell.Is this a bike I should consider ext. warr. on or would you consider the two years a good "safety net". Thanks guys.

extended warranties are almost 100% scams so I would not bother.

If you read carefully, you'll find there's not alot of things actually covered by extended warranties.

It's a good price, but as said before, I bet they sure would like to see it off the lot.

I picked-up an '03 at the end of last season for about $7500 with only 32 miles on it. Was it good price? I don't really care, I'm totally in love with the ride (has over 2500 miles on it now). If you're looking for the greatest deal around, you'll spend all your time at dealerships looking, not on the road riding.
