You read the title correctly, I'm getting a valve adjustment done by a dealership for free but I'm not happy. Here is why:

I'm getting a little seepage. The mechanic told me that the gasket must not have sealed properly and to keep an eye on it. I'm have slightly over 6200 miles and was trying to wait until I get closer to 10,000; but I'm going away in April and am thinking about dropping the bike off during that time.

I heard that other 955 owners have had this problem and even with the work it sometimes doesn't cure the problem. I hope this isn't the case.

That not good. I haven't read or heard of this, but since I have an 04 as well I am going to have to keep an eye out for that

Just to put you guys at ease it's not all 955i engines that do this. From my understanding it's not a frequent problem; however, when this problem does creep up - I heard the fix doesn't always work. I was told to note all the work that's done on it so if it's a reoccurring problem it will always be fixed under warranty.

It's not a lot of oil but it doesn't take a lot of oil to make it look like a mess.

I don't think I'd even notice that!!!! Eagle eye ought to your new handle.

Sure its oil and not Coolant. Is the head gasket blowing? Have you got nasty white scum in the oil?

Bad workmen blame their tools - or in this case the Machine. Raise merry hell - why was the valve job free - did they mess up before? :???:

No, they haven't even worked on this issue. I noticed it and it just so happens that I already had an appointment there the next day to get a new set of tires.

I had the tech check it out while he had the bike up. He told me it looks like the gasket. He said it's not bad but keep an eye on it. He than said since he'll be working on the bike and will be "in there" he'll just go ahead and adjust the valves for free. They're a hell of a nice dealership and bend over backwards for their customers. They'll let you watch them work on your bike or if you're in the dealership you can just walk into the garage if you want.

keystonejenks, HMMM, seems like a good opportunity for the dealership to check/re-torque the heads.
