Hi All just trying to dismantle my front forks and I am stuck trying to remove the damper rod. I have the triumph tool for this but when I try to release the lower holding bolt, the damper cartridge unscrews instead leaving the bolt below firmly in place connected to the lower part of the damper rod. I have read the other threads, but i am really stuck will my cartridge be damaged and how can I get the whole cartridge out? Thanks dean

Dean,
I did the same thing you're doing, got stuck at that same point and ended up taking it to a suspension shop (Computrac) who specialize in Racetec suspension kits and let them finish the job. The problem for me was not having the special tools needed to go further. I'm not completely sure about the procedure but I believe there are two tools required to remove the cartridge. If you only have one of them then that might be the problem, sorry I couldn't be of more help.
