I've also asked this question on the Modifications and Workshop forum but has anyone had experience with running Michelin Pilot Power tires? I've just ordered a set and hope I'll be happy with them on my Daytona 1200. All I've read online so far suggests that they're great tires.

The D12 is a heavy bike so I don't expect great mileage from the tires but if anyone has fitted Pilot Powers and has mileage figures I'd be grateful to hear from you.

I'll post my own findings once I've put a few miles on them.

thanks,
daytonacharlie

All the opinions I've heard have been great! They've been the most talked about and accepted tire on all the forums I've been on for the last yr.

I wouldn't mind trying them myself but I'm still not buying anything Michelin because of the USA Formula One fiasco last yr.

I've been very very happy with Pirelli Corsas and Super Corsas for the last few yrs. And I think the Pirellis might be a little lighter weight anyway.

Have fun, MH

I'm on my second set of Pilot Powers on the D900 - absolutely outstanding tires.

Rear was about 60% worn after 3500 miles and 2 track days, front was less than 50% worn.

Excellent ride, great grip, superb feedback (they give you lots of warning before sliding), warm up fairly quickly and they wear well (for a sport tire)

You will run out of ground clearance on your bike before you run out of lean angle with those tires (speaking from experience)....

Got them on a turbo Busa, Daytona, and Speed Triple. Best darn tires I've ever run. I won't put anything else on my bikes with tubeless tires.

On my FZR I always used Battle Axes mostly because the odd size back rim. On my daytona it came with the BT's and I switched to the Pilot Powers. I like these much better.

I can say from experience that the Pilot Powers are better than any Dunlop, Bridgestone, or Avon I've tried!!! Better mileage and grip!!! The only thing that may compete now are maybe the new Dunlop Qualifiers. You won't be disappointed with them!

I've mounted my new Pilot Powers, have put about 100 miles on them and conclude that they are without a doubt the best tires I've ever tried. Mind you I've always used sport touring tires (read not as sticky). I'm amazed at the grip! The initial turn-in response is unbelievable. What used to feel heavy and truckish now feels almost sporty compared to the Bridgestones (BT020).
I was getting about 5,000 miles out of the Bridgestones but I don't care what mileage I get from the Powers, I'm just glad to have this kind of grip and handling. They make the bike feel 100 lbs. lighter!
Enough gushing, thanks to all for your opinions and advise.
