I don't know about the '98 but my '02 is rock solid reliable. I'm sure some better info will turn up. I'm glad you found us , have a good time surfing around. :-D

I loved mine. I added 2 teeth to the rear and thought that was perfect.

I also had the aftermarket Triumph pipe and had the ecu retuned.

I had the fuel tank replaced under warranty because the old one leaked a little around the fuel pump.

I also put Heli bars on mine which I think are also perfect.

Good luck. Have fun. MH

Should someone tell him about the sprague clutch?
I don't know if it came on his model or much about them but they seem to require some attention.

I love the hell out of mine. Bought it with 5200 miles on it two years ago and now have 20520 on it with out and major problems. Rode to NY with it last summer and had a blast.
The biggest problem it has, is it like tires, but if you like wheelies, burnies, and just laying it down in corners with rapid acceleration you'll like it too.
So maybe its just the way I ride that eats the tires.

Good looking bike; love the exhaust!

Have you heard about the transmission issue some early bikes had? Search the web/this site and you can find the details.
