Has anyone seen a 955 2006 Daytona? Is there such a thing? I see them on the Triumph site listed but not is the show rooms.

I've only heard rumors so far. As far as I know Daytona 955 Triumph is listing is unchanged from the last couple of years. I imagine they will continue to list it as long as they have enough inventory.

As we all know 2006 is the last year for the great 955i. So, I'm guessing the 2006 models are limited production. Like the 2004 Sprint RS was its last year.

My dealer told me they should receive shipments of the 06 in early March. I thought I read that the 06 had some headwork upgrades and small changes to the clutch and the like. I've been known to be wrong once or twice in my life so don't take this as gospel. Memory is fading.....need to reach my beer........

This is straight out of the latest Torgue magazine:

Quote: 2006 Final year model gets new cylinder head and crankcases with revised cooling hose for a neater look. Other mods include a backlash eliminator gear for reduced noise; plus revised gearchange internals and swingarm.

From Webbikeworld:

Triumph News & Rumors: Latest Triumph rumors apparently true; 2007 Tiger will have Supermoto styling, moving away from the Adventure-tourer look; new aluminum frame, sportbike suspension, braced swingarm, upside-down forks, radial front brakes, 1050cc | Looks like Triumph has decided to release a superbike after all; rumors tell of a 1050cc triple to replace the Daytona; "Speed Triple" style version also likely | Triumph rumors for 2007 include a 675 Speed Triple |

FWIW,
Chuck

Great stuff! Can't wait to see them! Too bad about the Tiger, though. It was a great deal for the Adventurer/Touring types. All it needed was suspension upgrades and maybe a 1050 engine. Is Super Moto popular?

Sindt Motors in Dubuque Iowa has one in red. Other than the swing arm it looks like a 04 or 05.

It makes sense to me that they would put the 1050 motor in the new Daytona. Sounds like the 06 is part 05 and part 07. Got to use up the old inventory.

The swingarm on the 2006 on Triumph's website looks exactly the same as the 04 & 05's. What specifically is the difference in the swingarm?
Thanks, Mad`
