There in the paper. Not on the web. No scanner in this office!

looks great, hope it sounds as good as it looks with all new emissions laws. I heard the 675 and despite all the hype and rave reviews it didn't sound good at all, very flat and muted (although it wasn't wound right up.

Hmm... if there was a new Daytona with the 675 looks and a tweaked 1050 engine, that would sound like a winner.
At least I would be very interested.

Anything from MCN should be taken with a grain of salt then burn the rag as they make up more than they report on! Let me guess.....Every one wants a new Big Daytona, the D675 is a Big hit and is not even in most dealers yet......gee tough on to put the D675 Styling and the 1050 size Sprint motor together and well; Low and Behold we have the next new Big Daytona!

I bet they stayed up all night figuring out that one.........or just troll ANY Triumph based boards! Most of what they print isn't worth using for Toilet Paper! I hope you stole your copy and didn't actually pay for it! :-D

It is a good looking 'Impression' of what they HOPE Triumph is secretly working on.
Here's the scan.........

I for one hadn't seen any scetches or other pictures of the rumoured or dreamed about Daytona 1050 until I saw that one in the link above.
Besides, what's wrong with imagining a new big Daytona that looks quite like the smaller one? I actually like the look of the new 675 and wouldn't mind seeing a new model based on that same kind of design. IMO the new design looks better than the old, and since S3 and Sprint now have that 1050cc engine and since Daytona as a model and a name has been around for a long time, it would be only natural to assume that one day there will be a new one based on those two items.

Who cares what MCN or other magazines are drooling and imagining, it's just another topic for bikers to chat about on coffee breaks or pub evenings. Surely the new Daytona 675 will be a success on its own, and I wouldn't mind having one of those, too, as a track toy, for example.

I've just returned from sitting on a 675. The factory rep wouldn't let us ride it but I did get to crank it and rev it. Tomsk is correct in that it's pretty quiet but that's easily fixed with the Arrow can. Just as everyone else has reported, it's very small, thin, light and I so want one.
But if Triumph is going to build a next generation liter class Daytona they're gona have to start from scratch on the engine. The 675 is a total complete light weight package from the ground up whereas the existing 1050 engine (now 9 years old dating back to the original T595 in 1997) probably weighs almost as much as the 675 does (obvious exaggeration). So just cramming a speed triple 1050 engine into a modern frame with all the latest suspension and braking bits all wrapped in sleek 675 styled bodywork might sound like a no brainer, in reality it would still be a step behind the Japanese competition which it would ultimately be compared to and thus doomed as an also ran in the press.
I think Triumph has definitely turned the corner in it's ability to produce top shelf cutting edge sport bikes as evidenced by the 675 but a replacement for the 955 is going to take some time and that's OK. I'd rather it be the best it can be as with the 675 and who knows, it could be in the works right now, I sure hope so. MCN is usually full of s**t but we can all dream can't we?
