what kind of scam is this product?

All it looks like is a potentiometer, instead of like the others that is just one resistor, the pot can be adjusted to your liking. All it does is trick the ECU thinking it is sensing something else so it adjusts itself to that reading.

I like how they try and compare it to replacing an ECU for 1500. People who actually replace an ECU is putting in a some sort of major mod, say like a supercharge. Other than that, they find something like a power commander or tuneboy, or Hypertech, etc.

In two words: SNAKE OIL............

Techman, a Power Commander can handle N2O or any kind of boost. The ECU can remain stock.

When I think of superchargers and stuff I think of cars. When I get my next vehicle, most likely the mustang GT( I want the new challenger but can't wait that long and rumor is it is a limited production and will be out of my price range) and I get a supercharger for it, they come with a peformance ECU. In something like that, I would rather not use the stock ECU in that case.

If the product is just a pot, what sensor reding is it duplicating? I can't think of any sensor that would give that kind of power.

All it can possibly do is richen the mixture across the board, not a recipe for power.

And as far as superchargers, most stock CAR ecu's (far more computing power than a bike) can compensate for the boost since they have mass airflow sensors, and intake manifold pressure sensors. But most cars have sealed brains, so the only way to get a performance boost is to re-chip it, or replace the entire unit with one that has been re-programmed.

Didn't know we were talking about cars? All indications were we were talking about Triumph motorcycles. Oh well.

You are right sir!!

so back to the original question:

what could this thing possibly control?

certainly not fuel pulse of timing. Anybody get scammed by one of these "gadget"?

This is how I beleive it works, at least on cars. That is WHY i mention cars.

It connects to the intake O2 sensor. Some of these devices will totally replace the whole thing. The ECU monitors the current of the sensor and adjusts the fuel to air ratio accordingly to add more fuel when needed or less when not needed. That is why they are just a resistor or in this case a pot. It just changes the current the ECU monitors. So with this I can see problems because if someone who has no understanding of this, they can adjust that pot and make it too lean and kill your motor.

Oh god not this guy again. At best, this would do nothing more than trigger an FI light. Im going to guess that if all the Triumph engineers had to do was install a $.50 resistor into the circuit to gain "15 RWHP" they would have done it. Scams like this make me sick. It's scary to think that 846 people have bought into his BS. <sigh>

Typicly these shiat product would intercept a water or air temp sensor making the engine think is was starting to overheat thus adding fuel to compensate.

STAY FAR AWAY.....
