Hey guys, I currently have an opportunity to pick up a Daytona 955 fairly cheap. The bike is is good condition but needs a little work. I was originally going to hold out for the new 675 or a later model 955 but the price on this may end up being too good to pass up. However, I have searched all over and can't seem to find any info on the net about the bike. I can find stuff on the 1999 model and it is probably the same, but I would like to know for sure. Also, is this bike going to be a nightmare to find parts (both OEM and aftermarket) or is stuff readily available.

How is the 1998 model as far as handling?
I currently ride a 1993 Katana 600 so I am sure it is better then that but how does it it compare to other sport bikes out there.

Any and all information on this bike including stuff I have not asked is welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirk

Welcome aboard!

I guess one question should be what do you consider "fairly cheap"? Parts are readily available, but they ain't cheap.

Try this for info.

Hey, how far are you from Warner-Robins?

Again, thanks for letting me know it is called a T595.
I have been able to find more info on the bike.

So, if I decide to get the bike and it is up and running properly, are there any reliability issues or can I can count on the bike to crank every time if properly maintained?

Searching for performance parts, I found that the powercomander is only listed down to 1999 not that this is realy a big deal to me because I don't feel I realy need more power then stock and don't realy plan on doing too much, but I want to know the options are there later if I change my mind.

I've never owned one, but what I've heard/read is that they are very reliable.

Tuneboy covers that model.

When I researched the '98 T595, I only found one known problem. Early T595s often had transmission problems, but it was limited to engines before a certain engine number. I can't find the engine number after a quick look, but it can't have disappeared off the web between October and now. Look around, see if the engine number is before or after the cutoff, and if it's after, buy with confidence. It's a great bike. I love mine!

Actually, I think I am out on this one guys, the total price went up more then I think I am willing to spend on this bike. With the work that needs to be done and the fact it isn't exactly the bike I want, I was only willing to spend around $2k and it is over that point now. It could still be a realy good deal for somebody else who is interested in it.

I guess at this point I am back to saving up for a new 675 unless another realy good deal passes my way.

Thanks for all the help anyways, I am sure I will have more future Triumph questions as a seek out my bike.
