Has anyone seen anything like this before? I'm not sure where it's originating.

I rode today for the first time in a couple of months since it was 70+ degrees today (DC in December?!).

On the way home at stoplights and intersections I smelled what I thought was burning oil. I got home and looked around and sure enough, there was burning oil all over the oil cooler and on the left side of the motor.

Anyone seen anything like this?

Unfortunately my camera died after taking one picture.

Damaged oil cooler or split hose maybe ?

Perhaps. I haven't had a chance to check it out. Seems to only leak under pressure (no puddle on the carpet this morning). I need to get in there and check the hoses and cooler for apparent damage. Here's a closeup of the same image from last night. I just didn't have time to zoom in or get a better shot.

So far this thing has been a dream, so I'm not devastated, but I'm a little worried about it.

Hangover

the cooler is covered in oil that i can see so unless its dripping from above i'd say its the cooler or cooler hose.

There are better images up in my web album now. I think you're right, that it's the cooler leaking. The wind blew it all over that side of the motor, afterwards. The fairing channeled it down onto the exhaust and all over the oil pan, etc.
