The most troublesome item on the Gen1 D955i engine is
repairing a broken sprag clutch. The clutch itself isn't a problem moreso than on any other motorcycle.
To repair; it requires dropping the engine and splitting the cases, R&R the clutch, new gaskets, reassembly and reinstallation. Not terribly difficult, but time consuming from what I've researched.
If mine fails I am going the 1050 replacement route, which will require a wrecked donor bike. I'll then repair the old engine...for one helluva gocart?
