Looked at a Daytona for sale, offest rear wheel?

I looked at a 05 995i limited edition today. Looks really good, just some small scratches on one side, low speed drop, no big deal.

I don't think the guy is going to go for the trade anyway, but when I was looking at it it looked like the rear tail was offset to the rear wheel. Is that normal? i have a vague memory of hearing some bikes are set up that way. It's not just paralax from being on the side stand or anything like that. It was definantly offest.

He got the bike in a trade and only rode it a few times. He did say something like "with the single sided swingarm it wants to stand up coming out of corners" or something like that. My sprint has a single side swing arm and I never noticed anything different... but his other bikes have extended swingarms, he's a straight line rider.

Any inputs?

Picture would be helpful, but of course you don't have the bike.

It absolutely should not be off center - more likely tail (subframe) is tweaked than the wheel/swing-arm I would think.

Does it have OEM wheels?

Ya it's all stock, except exhuast and PC.

If he comes back to me agreeing to the trade I'll take a better inspection. I hope he does cause it's a sweet bike!

Thanks!

If on closer inspection it's a tweaked sub frame, don't attempt a repair, just replace.

Don't think the deal's gonna happen. He didn't seem that interested in the car I was offering to trade. I described it 100% accurate, he sounded almost sure of it, but then when he came to look at it he didn't seem that into it.

Which stinks, because now I really want a daytona 955! Wonderful looking bike. oh well...
