So what a crappy day, not only was it 30 degrees out, but I was hit by some idiot and it was the last 20 minutes the bike was out for the year.. went to fill the tank at the gas station and add fuel stabilizer. when the guy backed his car up and I was under it with my bike dumping oil and still idling onto of me..

After the guy noticed he ran me over he came around to the back of the car and just stared at me looking dumb.. I let out a horrid scream "GET THE FU****G BIKE OFF OF ME" he just stared I yelled it again finally he snapped to and helped me lift it up.

Broken right hand, damaged my already damaged lower spine (surgery is required), fractured left leg shin area. top all that off with the fact I'm handicapped and have what is called Type 3 Von WilleBrand disease (I'm a bleeder, its the most severe form of Hemophilia) But I'm alive, and the bike is repairable.

Now around here in Detroit Michigan there is only one maybe two Triumph dealers within a hour from me, and its freaking freezing out and I'm beat to hell from the accident.. How can I get a estimate on the damages? shouldn't I only take it to the dealer to be repaired, seeing as the bike has ALWAYS been repaired at the dealership maintenance book shows that. I want the best repair from a Triumph retailer cause that's all I ever put into that bike was the best I'm sorry for the rant in alot of pain still meds have me loopy.

How much does a new lever cost? I think I may need a front end adjustment seemed a tad cockeyed when I rode it home?

Here are a few of the other minor damages, it doesn't even begin to show what the scene looked like got away easy cosmetically. What do you guys think a ruff estimate would be to fix the shown issues, New brake handle, alinement, New or repaired fairing, and paint issues. she was a gem before this not one scratch fresh coat of wax the day before

I'm at a loss for words so I thought I would vent with other Triumph riders, like minded people..Thanks for reading be safe everyone people dont know how to look for bright yellow bikes with loud exhausts.. or any bikers for that matter. Man after previewing this post the pictures just don't explain how serious this was..

Of course the most important factor is for you to heal, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Your insurance agent maybe the best initial source for advice for dealing with the other driver's liability. This would include medical, motorcycle repair and transport costs of the motorcycle for repair and any other expenses associated with this event.

Find out if the gas station has a video.

They do have it all on video, I also have written letters from witnesses at the scene, it was a heck of a show..

I'm afraid of placing medical bills upon the young man that hit me, see with my blood disorder it cost 18 grand for just one injection of my medication to stop me from bleeding for up to 8 hours, I have had 3 injections since this happened yesterday.. that's over 50 grand US money just for life saving meds not to mention the tab the hospital is gonna ring up then the surgery's I will have to have in the future.. I'm at a loss I don't wanna stick this family with the bill, this hospital bill will be over 100 grand alone. I was really hoping that the cost of repairs would be not so expensive that way I wouldn't have to burden this family with such a extraordinary hospital bill. after all it was a accident his fault yes but nonetheless The kid was only 19 and just got his license 3 weeks ago.. I felt horrible for him, well more for his Mom , than I did that the event had taken place..

Stick the family. The kid sounds like a dumb arse. Didnt get his license until 19? Most likely a lack of maturity, he probably got it too soon, their choice, they should suffer the consequences.

Does the driver have insurance to cover the accident he caused? Either i'm reading too quickly or this hasn't been made clear. As the father of young drivers I understand the importance of seeing that anyone living in my home is properly insured and I carry an umbrella policy to pick up uncovered losses.

If the driver is insured he should be responsible for for your losses, medical and mechanical. If he isn't insured you may want to just file a claim with your insurance company and let them subrogate the losses.

That is not your problem.... If he didn't run you over you would have not needed the shots in the first place..... Make them pay for EVERYTHING incurred from the accident... And I hope you heal up fast....

Drivers Mother's car was the one involved and it has full coverage, I just spoke with them and they said im stuck I get nothing but I can sue for medical bills.. but because I have no fault on mine (winter) that I'm s.o.l I havent slept and I'm hurting pretty bad sorry if I have left any holes in the story. I just going on good faith that the family will do the right thing and pay for the fixes.. if its under $500 then why make a claim just pay to fix it.. JUST got a txt message JUST now, since I dont have full coverage, I get squat both parties have to have full coverage in order for them to fix anything mechanical, only will pay for medical she just said.

Trix, I have levers you can have, I know its not much but its a start. I guess state to state is different but I don't know why your insurance co. couldn't file a claim against his for the damage to your bike, he is solely responsable for the whole thing. Even so you could take them to small claims court and they would have to pay out of pocket. If everything is caught on tape and you have witnesses, make them pay! Why should it come out of your pocket! No way should you be ''stuck'' with anything. Sorry dude but when I read your last message I got a little heated, Just rest up and get well, that's the important thing right now.

MI insurance is wacky when it comes to motorcycles. They aren't even considered motor vehicles...
