Let's hear it - what do you like about your year Daytona over the others?

For example, on my 02 CE I like the stealth look of the aston green body, black rims, and dark tint Powerbronze double bubble.

Never rode another year Daytona, so can't comment on the engine modifications.

I do appreciate the adjustable mirrors on the 02.

Styling? The pre-02 models are beautiful in a sort of swoopy, sexy way, while the 02 to me looks more serious and mean. Of course having the 02 makes me biased in favor of the 02, but I'd be just as happy and biased with an 01 or 00 as well.

WHADDAYA ALL THINK?

Like yourself, I’m biased also.

My CE just seems to fit me more comfortably then the previous Daytona’s. I sat on one of the old 1200 models today- it felt like a tank- just huge. I LOVE the black wheels. Wish the frame was black also; that would be ssoooo sweet!

However, my friends ‘99 might have better attention to detail. The triple clamp is polished, and the windshield bracing looks nicer then mine.

Some of the older bikes had dual pipes. I really dig the look of those.

The low beam headlights Su@k on the 02 model. I’ve been told the older ones were fabulous.

I think I can see more out of my mirrors then the old bikes. They still aren’t great, but probably the best Triumph mirrors I’ve seen so far.

All in all, the current Daytona is an outstanding bike. I can sit in the garage and spend hours just admiring her. Then, when we’re out riding its just pure magic.

There you have it-

I read somewhere that the dealers don't check the headlight aim, and it's always low, and sure enough, checked mine and it was W A Y low. Now the low beam is PLENTY bright, and am not blinding anyone. Check the aim! Also, know what you mean about hours in the garage admiring - that be me!

To me, the T3 Daytonas have a look to them that is raw yet refined. Kind of James Bond and Wolverine.
I like the classic look of the T3. I spend many an evening sitting in my garage chair just starring at my Super III. I know what you are thinking, "Your bike is so bastardized there isn't much Super III left". That is probably true, but I look at the lines of the body work, over the carbon bits, down to the Staintunes and the Dymags and it just gives me wood (pardon me ladies).

Just look at it! I love the look of that bike. OK the rear pegs are crap, but I normally don't run with those on. Any body have some factory rear pegs laying aroung?

Don't get me wrong, I like the newer models too but the T3 just gets to me.

Hi Hinckley,

That sure is a pretty bike!! I love the red wheels, dual headlights and twin pipes. I do believe that a center stand was an option back then…? I sure would like to see them as an accessory again…

Your Daytona looks like she’s ready to run at the Isle of Man TT

Congrats on a lovely bike!

Thanks Randy.
Unfortunatly, this is it's current state. Hence the Avatar.

If all works as planned, I should have it back together by the end of the month. Yea right!

Dude, here's hoping you can get that thing together in time for the spring weather. If all goes well with your engine, I'm sure seeing other riders on the road will provide plenty of motivation By all means though be careful not to rush the job too much.

I've got a 1995 900. I agree with Hinckley, great bikes. Just enough raw edge to give them that character sadly lacking in a lot of modern stuff.
I love the sound it makes, especially on the over-run from high speed. It's loud enough but deep!
