When your bike won't start on a couple of consecutive days - turning the starter, but no signs of life, you don't need to run and catch the train to work. All you need to do sometimes is open the fuel cap, close it again and try to start. Away it went.
When you find you have tail lights and no brake lights, rather than spend a couple of days going over brake light switches, fuses, and all other wiring, have a close look at the filaments in the bulbs. You might find that they happen to have burnt out after all. Two new bulbs & problem solved.
I thought the tank might have been a one off, but looks like it will need more investigation. Happened again, once again when the tank was mostly empty. Open cap, close, and it starts first time.
Definitely appears to be venting issue - check the suggestions above.
Remove left side infill and pull off the two hoses - if that does not change situation, you may have clogged vent line that runs through tank. Run thin wire or guitar string or similar down through it.
