Hi
I am thinking of replacing the stock can on a 05 955i and am considering a Quill.
Anyone had any experience with Quill cans?

They are very well made and work well - can't really fault them

Thanks Wolf,

I guess the reality is that I am really after the improved sound rather than HP gains, but that's good as well! The attractiveness of the Quill cans was the promise of race can sound after 4-5000 rpm but remaining acceptable below that (and being stamped)
I have taken a look at the Wolf pipes now,and the S Series looks interesting.

Cheers

I nearly bought a Quill, why not? Brit can on a Brit bike, but I was worried I might not get the sound I wanted.

Opted for a Two Brothers Racing® in the end and I'm very pleased. Impeccable quality and man, what a beautiful sound that Triple Howl™ is................................. :-D

Yeah I've heard the two bros sound great but are really loud. I use my bike every day for work right through the city centre. I would love some pure race can noise but think I would eventually get pulled.
Unfortunately its got to have a stamp.

I am still looking for one. I am going towards the Jardine. Also Tomsk, with the jardine can, you can buy a piece you can put on and take off to make it more quite.

Others are Wolf, but can't seem to find a part number for an 04 Daytona and picture. My question is, can the rear footpeg stay on without spacers?

Also was looking at Leo Vince. But still not sure about that one because they look really big, and I don't see a high mount one.

I looked for Quills after seeing this post, but couldn't find where to get in the U.S.

Yeah, the Series S is our most popular now and almost nobody ever takes the baffles out as it sounds great at mid to high revs with them in anyway...

Techman - check out www.wolfracing.co.uk - details for the 04 (well 02 onwards as they're all the same) , prices and pictures. I have an 05 with of course our can on - you can always give me a call to hear it too!

Not real loud, but then w/o a decibel level, we're being subjective.

Sounds like the Quill is your best bet.

TechmanBD:

You should give Two Bros a look! I have their C2 (small oval) which they say is recommended for the 600cc sized bikes, but like you the recommended cans looked big to me. Two Bros gives you an option and the baffling is the same across the board on their pipes so no change in sound. (although their sound bites do differ) Top quality and I've NEVER had any problems with anyone with the sound (loudness) of the bike. It's been on 3 years now and I still love the sound of the bike idling while I warm it up. I never get to hear it any other way, 'cuz I'm riding it! They also have a new model that has a removable end cap called the V.A.L.E. which has either a P1 Power Tip which reduces the DB 2-3 points or a full Q1 Quiet Core insert which keeps the DB below 96 and is a FULL SPARK ARRESTOR as well. All are available in the same sizes and can styles as their other pipes. Their high level cans work with passenger pegs too. (kit required)

I couldn't find one for a 2004. They list pipes for DSSA and SSSA. This just happens to be for a DSSA model but the slip on is the same either way.

V.A.L.E. Pipe page

Daytona 'Standard' Pipes

My RS at Idle.....I like it!
