Hey guys. I Just bought a 2001 955i a couple of days ago. I just love the sound of the bike :-D but have a few questions for the seasoned 955i riders
1) the bike is fitted with a high mount yoshimura pipe. It back fires quite a lot while descelerating. From reading some of the previous post I assume It needs to be re-mapped.
The question is If I fit a PCIII on it would it still needed to be remapped by the dealer?
2)This bike is quite tall, I have test ridden a S3 and a sprint and they were not as tall. Maybe the previous owner raised the back because the distance from the back tire to the wheel well is MASSIVE, while n the side stand it leans some 15 to 20 degrees. There are only 5 rings showing on the shock. Question is can it be lowered and if so how do I do it?

I'm only 5'6 so it is kind of intimidating. I had a Gixxer 600 and a Ducati 996 but neither one felt as tall as the Daytona
Thanks for your help,
Robert.

I am 5'5" and yes it does feel tall. I came off of a FZR600 so I need to get use to the taller seat height. My buddy has a duc 999 and doesn't sit as tall as my Daytona.

When I bought my bike, I asked my dealer about getting a pipe and the PCIII. They said to properly use the PCIII you would need to take it to someone who has a Dyno to properly tune it. They told me that most of their customers get a new pipe and have them download the triumph offroad program, and they are happy with just that.

If you have a laptop, buying a pcIII is doing your bike an injustice. Get the tuneboy. Just my 2 cents.
