I just got hold of a copy of Bike magazine as my parents arrived in the US yesterday. It's a very good magazine supplement and the 675 looks and sounds like an awesome bike. If I had the money I'd be at the dealership now with my cheque book! Anyway, here's some small quote's from it....hang on it's going to be quite a ride.... :-D

They reckon 123bhp at 12,200rpm (14,000 redline), that's roughly 116 at the rear wheel and 53lb.ft at 11,750rpm. Top speed 162mph (limited by gearing).

The engine is 442mm wide, that's 47mm narrower than the outgoing D650. It has through the head-stock ram-air, stacked gear-box, and houses the oil and water pump inside the engine housing. There's an exhaust value in the secondary collector, a first for Triumph. The new engine weighs 5kg less than the 650 engine.

The frame has an adjustable swing pivot point and is now cast rather than extruded, which enabled it to be 23% lighter than the D650's, as well as having a more sculpted look. The new frame is so small it actually fits inside the old D650's frame! The D650 was 482mm across at it's widest point, versus 372mm for the D675.

The clocks have a comprehensive lap timer, wth 99 lap memory, full trip computer, (journey time, max speed, average speed, average mpg, real-time mpg) gear position and adjustable gear change indicator lights as per the new Speed Triple.

It say Triumph will only build about 4-5000 next year, 1000 of which will go to the UK market. I think they are going to sell out fast!

Bike said that it was the most exciting road bike they've ridden in a long, long time.

Also that it's performance was capable of swatting aside the other 600's like they were insignificant gnats buzzing at it's tail and that the 675 is utterly compelling, fast, ferocious, aggressive, demanding and involving.

They also say the handling is fantastic. Sharp, flickable, confident, almost like a 250, and the suspension is highly impressive.

The last comment in the article - Put your name on a waiting list. NOW.

I might just have to do that.... :-D
