Some folks may remember when asked about high mileage Hinkley's I mentioned I'd seen a 60,000 mile 1991 red Daytona 1000 in beautiful condition. Well I've seen a couple for sale apparantly in very nice condition around 20-30,000 miles for around $2,700 usd.
Lying in bed last night reading the august 1991 edition of "Bike" magazine (UK) and yes I am an old boring fart who keeps mags when they have interesting articles - such as the first road test of the new range of Triumphs.... I see it has 120hp, 130/170 tyres 43 mm forks etc.. etc.. still modern specs. However it was tall (because of the spine frame) and heavy. Did any of you guys ever own one of the early Daytonas and what are your thoughts? At $2,700 its got to be a good buy as a run around and eventual collectors item.
