Hi does anyone know what the problem maybe on my speed triple front end or is it just the nature of these bikes, I get a pattering from the front every time I ride on uneven bumpy or not so smooth road surfaces which is really annoying.I have since changed the front springs for hagon and replaced the fork oil using 10w.I have also replaced the rear shock unit for a hagon and still the bike does this. any advice would be welcome. :???:

Have you checked the headstock bearings? They may need tightened.

Head stock needs to be checked for sure, but have you messed with the rebound and compression dampening in any way manner or form? :hammer:

I must admit I have grabbed the fork legs from the bottom ,there does not seem to be any play in the bearings , but maybe it could be that, I think I will order some of those spanners and re grease and adjust.I have tryed all of the rebound and compression setting with no change, at the moment they are set on standard.

Be sure that the front end of the bike is off the ground when you do your checks as well as the tightening.

How many miles are there on your bike?

What tyres do you have? Have you set up the static sag and all that good stuff yet -
http://sportrider.com/tech/146_0308_geek/ - plus google for Suspension set etc... should yield some input. The freeways in LA can be quite tough on even the finest components - the concrete slabs give a bucking kind of ride to say the least. I don't ride that area as much nowadays but I did a lot of fiddling and finally got it right or satisfactory at least. Rebound and compression is the key once your preload is right as per static sag - make big moves in your adjustments to notice the affect then adjust more subtly - I would give you my old LA figures but I failed to write that down, sorry. One thing I do have in my front is 15 wt oil and my weight bias is slightly forward of stock ie dropped triple tree down the forks by 1/2" - which suits me though I know others have gone further. That said the fork to 'tree height may make no difference but might improve your handling somewhat. When were the bushing replaced any idea? :hammer:

Hi, First thanks to you both for your input, the answer to the first question I am currently running on Michelin Hi Sports which have only done about a 1000 miles, I have a complete service history with the bike but noticed that nothing had been recorded as far as fork maintenance was concerned, the bike has done 21,000 miles, like I said before I have changed the fork oil and renewed the front springs ( Hagon Progressive) and rear shock also hagon ,and the problem still exists. My suspicions now are the Head bearings which I will re grease and adjust over the winter. I hope this is the problem because I really like this bike but not the problem.
