I have a 955i CE, and it recently stopped charging. In the past week I have installed a new stator and a new battery. It is still not charging. From the stator I'm getting about 5 volts each from 2 wires and about 1 volt from the third. Is that normal? That's only about 10 volts. This is the reason I replaced the stator in the first place.
I'll have to check it again, but I think I did check it that way. That thread you posted a link to was very useful. I printed that out when I first had problems and used that to determine the stator was bad.
Does anyone know what voltage is supposed to be coming out the stator? I've read 25 volts or more but I would like to know the specific voltage for the 955i. Also, are the three wires supposed to read the same?
