It has been a while since we have posted some photos of our beloved rides. Take a moment and show us your ride and be sure to point out your latest modifications....
If you cannot post a photo, send it to me and I will post it for you.
As I stated in an earlier post, I just added a set of Tarozzi foot controls and I have also installed a set of wave rotors.....
Thanks. I got it for the tank bag (that I use it often) than aesthetics.
The only caution if you want to do that is how to sew it: the gap between stitches must be taken into account as if they're too close, tank bag would be ripped easily.
Some shots of my project bike. 99 Daytona... the po had dumped it.
I added the RS125 seat and built the aluminum subframe, 900rr front fender, speed tripple upper tree, pro taper bars, Danmoto exhaust and rearsets. Levers, mirrors, headlight, taillight & blinkers are all cheapos from China, threw on different rubber, relocated the ignition switch. Tore out a bunch of wiring, gps for my speedo, I don't have a tach figured out yet. Orical dark matte red metallic vynil wrap. I forgetting some stuff but you get the idea. Nevermind the cardboard template... I'm not quite done with the subframe yet.
Pretty darn cool Powerplant! Some how it all fits, RS125 rear cowl works aesthetically and works well. Like to see some pics of the subframe.
Not sold on "wraps" I guess that's the future....
The front RR fender works too.....interesting. A dash panel would be pretty easy. If you can make a template, have Dime City or one of those guys make it for you or make it your self. little powder coat and your set.
Hey, you know what would look great, a "shorty" rear tire hugger. Find used one and knock it down.....that would smooth the back out a bit....what do you think?
Nice work!
Thanks... you need to know that this is project "cheap". I only paid $500 for the whole bike. Tail $160, Rearsets $175, Exhaust $120, Headlight $30, Front Fender $15, Vinyl Wrap $100, Misc $100. So for about $1000 I feel I have a unique bike to ride this summer.
I want to keep the single gps as my only gauge. I do have a light tucked behind the headlight that will come on when the gas get's low. I never look at a tach anyway so I'm going to try riding without it. I considered a hugger but decided I want to keep as much unnecessary stuff of the bike as possible (including the gob of unnecessary wiring I ripped off it as well).
Is that an OEM union jack nose ? That's something I'm interested in. I have a guy ( SrSignDesign) trying to put a decal together. I'm also toying with doing mine using off white, silver, grey, etc. for the cross color variation instead of red, white and blue...or having one painted on by Tricked Out Custom Cycles...
I saw a pic of a Daytona with a white number plate on either side of the rear fairing/cowl cover and half of the nose fairing, very, very cool!
Yes it is. When I went shopping to replace the Sharkskinz racing fairing this turned out to be the least expensive option. It was on sale or maybe just priced differently on the World of Triumph website, around $400. Sharkskinz does make a street version for over $600, but I would have needed to paint it along with repainting the tail fairing. I sold the full fairing for as much as the OEM cockpit fairing cost.

That sounds very interesting! I like the Union Jack design mostly because my current tank has no decals. The PO acquired the bike as a salvage and re-built it as a track bike so everything simply got a thin coat of semi-gloss black paint. One interesting outcome was the spider web pattern that developed on the tank - I kind of like it. But I do have a nice replacement tank with decals if I get tired of the current rugged look.
