I believe it's 07 and up s3...maybe it's a little earlier have the nice pre drilled holes for a set of risers.

Do any of you guys know if these newer upper triple clamps will fit my 02 daytona?

I really like the "comfort kit" handle bars you can buy for the daytona but i don't like the near $400 price tag.

looking for a cheaper alternitive DIY kit so my bike is not such a PITA on long work commutes

no - 05+ has USD forks - 52mm ID on the fork clamp mount.
You need to look for set from older triple from similar range or 97-01 should also work

Yes, but they changed the design of the stem nut and triple clamp on the 04 so you might need to replace that also if you get the last year of the S3.
Also - not sure how much clearance you get with the fairing on the 02+ Daytona with upright bars - definitely better than the 97-01 but not sure how much height you will be able to accommodate

I know this thread is old but is there any way I can get a picture of the new design? I can't good info anywhere. I'm currently making a Speedtona but I bought a top triple clamp with a (prox) 22mm stem hole instead of the 25mm stem hole (which uses the 6 hole round funky nut) that my Daytona uses. I'm really hoping I just need to get a different nut.

I too have an 02 Tona. I got my clamp and risers from www.topyokes.com. Shipping takes forever but it's a good product and worth the wait. I got my clutch and break cables from http://www.worldoftriumph.com/sectio.../triumph_parts .

I bought an S3 top triple clamp but it has a 22mm hole. I just need the nut that sits on top of the yoke not the type that fits in the 25mm hole (which is what my Daytona has). Those top yokes on that site are nice. Mark.

If you're in Boston, I have the removal socket (TOP NUT). You can borrow it if you like. I can show you my topyoke too. I haven't put it all together yet.

I don't know that the thread is the same - note that there are actually three configs of stem/clamp/top nut - all of which are matched by VIN.

The best option might be to have the clamp you purchased machined to 25mm diameter - find a machine shop and tell them you need it opened up to larger ID on the same center.
15min job (tops) on a mill.
