Unfortunately I was in an accident friday. Someone pulled right in front of me without even paying attention. "Her exact words!" Unfortunately I wasn't able to stop or veer out of the way in time and SMACK!!!
Luckily I only broke a rib and a bone in my foot. My BIKE on the other hand, took a good bit of damage. Mostly cosmetic thankfully. Because of it's age, I'm sure the insurance co. will consider it totaled, as all of the front bodywork, the mounts for the gauge cluster, and the front tabs of the side body panels were all thrashed. I priced the plastic and it doesn't take long to add up to a couple grand.
I love the bike, and want to keep it. Im almost sure I will go the speed triple route, as I've priced a handlebar conversion, double headlight setup, and it's not quite a grand and is very cool looking. My back is old and tired, just like it's owner, and it will appreciate the new riding position. I'm not thrilled about the change, but it's the only thing that really makes sense.
I found the parts at whaccessories.com, and they look to be very high quality.
ANY SUGGESTIONS or ADVICE on the subject would be great, but it seems like a pretty straightforward process.
BE ALERT and WATCH OUT FOR OTHERS!!!!!!!! It can't hurt to say it again!
