AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil

Is it okay to use this in my '98 955i?

Thanks

mrjonesjr8, As long at it meets these specs:

AMSOIL has a very loyal following, someone who uses it will likely be along.

I've never used AMSOIL myself, but a friend of mine is a dealer and has been asking if I would like to use AMSOIL in my 955i. I've been considering trying it but would love to hear from anyone here that has had experience with this.

I have no personal experience with Amsoil, but have read positive comments elsewhere and you can likely GOOGLE the same. However, since it is not the recommended oil nor weight, why experiment with the unknown IMO?

I run 10-40 in the colder weather of the spring, but as the weather warms up you will notice some valve noise. I switch when the weather is constantly above 20 deg. here, to 20-50 AMS. The lighter oil warms up faster and start's better in the cold....tis the only reason I like the lighter oil in the spring....

The only complaint I have ever heard about AMS oil, is the cost,...and I belive it's worth every penny.....my own 2 cent's are worth little,...but there ya have it.

MJONESJR8,

Triumph recommends Mobil 1 Racing 4T 15W50 for their motorcycles, including the 955i.

Go here to see another recent thread and posts (including my own). No need to duplicate it here.
