Daytona doesn't like to go into first gear sometimes...?

Well most of the time it goes right in but every so often it just bounces out when I try to shift in(click click click). I don't know enough about motorcycle transmissions but if it happened in my jeep I'd say the synchros were worn. Anybody else get that?

Jack, Make sure there is isn't too much slack in the clutch cable. The adjusters are at the clutch lever and at the clutch cover.

I'll check the one on the clutch cover tomorrow but I just adjusted the one on the lever to 3mm today after I flushed my coolant.

ok so I double checked today. did what it said in my Haynes manual. I actually had it wrong, I thought it was 3mm at the top, its 3mm at the bottom and then you adjust the top so theres less than 1mm of slack. i did that and its a huge improvement. still doesn't like 1st from time to time. its more when i try to push it in still rolling and im going a little faster than i think i am. I'm trying to come to a stop or roll to push it in and its a bit better. maybe its just touchy.

Jack-not sure what year you have. I had Pazzo levers on my '05 and it took a little tweaking to get them right. I had to keep the adjuster on the lever all the way from the bar or 1 click in and it worked fine after resetting the levers.

Sometimes you can have everything adjusted fine and it will still not quite link up. Roll if forward 5 inches and you are good to go.
