I don't think it's possible to reverse the eccentric on the Daytona - the brake caliper hanger bolt prevents that from happening.
Wearing at the front would typically be from a smaller primary sprocket, but you seem sure that is correct?
Your chain may be incorrect length however, causing it to sit much lower than it would normally. Should be 106 links. Mark one with a Sharpie & count, see how many you have.
But the difference at the rear is going to have a lot less effect than the front sprocket, so check that again.
Make sure there is no lateral misalignment - there is no wheel misalignment from an adjustment perspective possible with the SSSA, however possibly sprockets have been installed incorrectly?

yeah sorry forgot to mention i counted chain length at 106 as you say being std length and have checked sprockets at 18 and 42.sprockets look to be in excell cond chain may have a bit of stretch i weighted chain with 10kg and took measurements manual says replace when distance over 21 pins exceeds 321mm i got 318mm so is it close to being replacement time?

speedfish, May be time to replace the chain and sprockets. I think if you could see your chain in action you would see it oscillatating in a wave pattern. This is often due to wear causing a change between the pitch of the chain and sprockets.

If you divided your chain into fourths and then measured the stretch you'll get a better idea on it's wear.

speedfish, I don't know for sure, but possibly if the bike sat for an extended length of time the chain may've taken a set where it wrapped around the sprockets. I'd be interested in other's ideas.

You may want to order the 43T rear sprocket from the earlier T595 for a slight gearing improvement.

I have noticed over the past few weeks, the chain has been getting noisier and sounds metallic. I have been packing on the chain oil although hasn't made any difference. The chain was loose so I adjusted it although no improvement to date.

My main concern was the chain slider. I have the rear wheel off so is it an easy job to replace? I am guessing if I just loosen the chain, the slider is held on by a couple of screws?

I am wondering if maybe the chain and sprockets need changing, even though the sprockets look fine. I will do the measurements in four quarters tomorrow to see if that identifies any stretch.

Well I stripped the rear down today to clean everything up and diagnose. The chain slider was worn and the fixing screw had started to wear from rubbing on the chain.

I must have cleaned a kilo of old chain grease from everywhere and I need to wait a couple of days until a new slider and rear brake pads arrive. 8 Triumph dealers in Sydney and not one of them had a slider in stock......

I still plan on checking the chain although the slider is definately the immediate concern, and a bit cheaper

Chain slider replaced

Well I found the time to replace the chain slider over the weekend. I did not realise exactly how much had worn away until the new one was delivered and I could compare!

Not sure if this is the first time it has been replaced in 10 years and 37,000km's although I am glad I did it when I did!

Complete silence on the way to work today!
