Sump Plug Washer Size?

Anyone know the spec for this. I want to buy a supply from somewhere other than a Triumph dealer. They are stupid prices if bought individually!

My best guess is 14mm, but that is just a guess. You might measure it at the next oil change and get them in bulk at an auto parts store.

Dimensions

Just measured my spare aluminium sump washer..

Outside diameter 22mm
Inside Diameter 15mm
Thickness 2mm

I only have two, which I alternate. If you have a plumbers blow torch for silver soldering pipe joints then you can use it to anneal your old one. Tightening your sump plug deforms the aluminium washer slightly and work hardens it so that if you re-use it, it won't deform and therefore not make a seal. Annealing removes the work hardening.

What I do is take the old one off and replace it with the new. Lay the old washer on a piece of asbestos cloth (you use it in plumbing to protect the stuff around the pipe being soldered) and run the blow torch flame gently back and forth across the washer until you see a slight orange glow in the metal following the trailing edge of the flame and then stop. You've now annealed your washer ready for the next time.

Nope, but....

Anything spent elsewhere is money not available for fuel and visible farkles!!! LOL

Anyway need to save money on the washer to pay for the fairing fasteners!
