Chain slider block HELP

I am helping out a mate find a new rubber chain slider block for his 94 Daytona 900.
The bike has 65,000 kms on it and the this rubber is worn through. The Bike Bandit site lists only a 95 Daytona (I assume its a 900)
and the part number as 5557677-001 which is the same as a 94 speed triple so just need to verify that.

He has tried all the Triumph dealers in aussie and they can not find this part for his bike.

I checked the part number for my 98 T Bird but although looking the same its a differant number.
Any option here to adapt one from another bike, rebuild ideas ( I have a few of my own but will be last resort ) or a supplier would be greatly appreciated.

cheers
Murray

OK so no one knows what I could do, perhaps telling me Its a lost cause and to attempt to customise one would be better than no responce at all

Am considering sculpting a nylon insert for the the old one.

Someone must know the go with thiese.

cheers

Part

Happy to contact the local dealer in UK, see if they can get it for you and I'll ship it (warning: shipping costs are NOT cheap)

Certainly find out if they can get the part.

If I am correct, it is the nylon strip that runs along the top of the swing arm, and around the front to protect from chain rub? Certainly find out the Triumph details for you!

I would be wary of some of the The Bike Bandit part numbering.

chain slider

Hi there

I'm sure the rubber is the same as a speed triple 1995. I've just ordered one. There is another slidder/bush that is on the frame, if I remember correctly. T552 would be able to help. You have to take the swinging arm off, so you might as well replace both.

Chain Slider

According to the lovely Caroline at our dealership, the Triumph number for the part is 2056920-T0301, costs £14.20 + 17.5% VAt (I get 10% discount off that) and it is in stock at Triumph Hinckley, so it would be with me for Monday.

Hi Rexx, That sounds close to what it would cost from Bike Bandit but do not know thier shipping cost either.
Really appreciate your help and will send you a private message to arrange something.

Kitch, your probably right re same part, I am sure there is a way to change the block without removing the swing arm as it is similar to the TBird and I was able to do mine without removing it, replaced one of the torx screws with a hex head. Maybe similar with the Daytona.

cheers

slider

Good idea. I'll check that mod out. Last time I did this, the slider/bush (part no tr078965 I think) that is on the frame was completely worn through. It might be because my suspension is jacked up. But might be worth bearing in mind when the main slider is replaced.
