Erm... sounds like a pretty cool idea.

Has anyone done it or know if it can be done? Thought I'd ask before digging myself a hole 1/2 way to Australia!

I don't think I've ever seen this, but should not be particularly challenging, even if not direct plug n play.
As a starter for you, the dimension across the pivot is 284mm, so see how that compares with your D12.

Y'know... I think I might just give this a go. Goodbye to those snug evenings sat in front of the log burner... hello to another long and intimate association with the garden shed and a set of Stanley's finest cro-mo sockets!
