Carbon Hugger

Does anyone know where I can get a carbon fibre hugger for an 03 Daytona in the USA?, I've trawled the internet ( but then I am a computer idiot ) and only seem to be able to find them in UK & Aus. As it's got carbon side panels & a high level carbon exhaust it would seem rude to put a plastic one on it. I'll get one shipped if not available here but thought I'd ask. Grateful for any info.

I don't think you'll find anything produced in the states. I have a Tamburini hugger/chainguard that has held up well for 8 years or so. The best carbon stuff for the older bikes is made by Geelong in AU. Nice people, and the prices are decent. ( In Aussie Dollars)

not to bag on this or anything, but what's the purpose of a rear hugger?

Well, for a start, it stops road crap from throwing itself all over your rear suspension unit (which protects the chrome shaft) and on wet roads, it prevents the rear tire from throwing water all over you lower legs and boots.

And finally... It looks very cool in Carbon Fibre, and adds 25 BHP.

Looks cool. Worth $450 + shipping + taxes (60%, in my case)?
Weight?

Speed3, thanks for the heads up on Geelong, their hugger does look good, I'm waiting for some emails back from England to compare the prices.
Linz, I'm really dissapointed, someone told me I'd get at least another 30hp from a carbon hugger

Brit in DC, there's always this one too....from UK, don't know how good it is, but it's significantly cheaper.

The hugger that Timwu posted from the UK may not be real carbon fiber, but at 75 pounds + 35 int'l shipping (that's US$125 + 58 = US$183) represents good value and looks pretty good too. It is always nice to have alternatives to choose from. The real carbon fiber hugger from Australia is US$419 not including shipping.
