headlight bulb type? H4 or H4 (H/L)

Just wondering what kind of bulbs we have. I know that they're H4's, but are they regular H4's or H4 where it's high and low (dual filament) THanks!

Definitely would not do those bulbs without my headlight wiring mod.

I'd be really interested to see what the voltage is at the bulb sockets if you could accommodate that ST3VO - you would need to check both sockets for low & high, since one lamp is fed from relay and one direct through Hi/Lo switch.
I was dropping 2V and 3V (relay & non-relay) even with the std 60/66W bulbs!!!!

So I shouldn't spend more money on the ones listed as H4 Hi/Lo because the regular H4 is already Hi/Lo? Is this the case for HIDs too?

HID are different - the retrofit kit is based on the connector plug type and the HID could be either.
Personally I would not waste money on HIDs without a proper projector housing

Philips X-Treme Power H4 bulb

A few months ago I posted the results when I switched from my original bulbs to Philips X-Treme Power bulbs. I have been pleased with the improvement in lighting.

http://www.triumphrat.net/daytona-de...bulb-test.html

As to HID (xenon) conversions, DEcosse is quite correct. This should only be done in conjunction with new HID lense housings; otherwise the light is not projected properly for the rider, and certainly not for oncoming traffic. Generally, such a retrofit will not be available for an existing halogen set-up. However, a good halogen set-up can provide excellent lighting, so HID is not the panacea many assume it to be.

ST3VO - Nice looking 955i. Why not add your model bike and whereabouts to your profile. From the look of the background, methinks jolly old England?
