No - but it's like the
PAIR (
Pulsed
Air
Intake
Reed) system in Suzukis - identical in operation to that.
Has a valve that bleeds air into the exhaust ports.
SAI is
Secondary
Air
Injection.
It tends to make the exhaust 'pop' when throttle is closed!
Like the Suzuki, you can get blanking plates if you want to remove it.
However it is best if you have dealer reprogram the ECM with a non-SAI map - the check engine light will be on if the valve is disconnected. You can bridge the connector plug wuth a resistor however to 'fool' the ECM
