Oil Leak, Gear Shifter, 2000 daytona 955i

Does anybody know if you can change that oil seal without having to split the cases? The manual I have (not the triumph manual) suggests that some of the shifter parts can be gotten to by going through the oil pan etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome rjiv19

Is it the one with the gear pedal linkage or the one that carries the selector forks?

Are you sure it is the gear shaft seal that is leaking?
On the 97-01 engines it is not uncommon for the casings to leak through the side-stand mounting bolt-holes. Seriously! Check that out to see if that is really your source.

Thanks for responding. The specific oil seal is called the gearbox lever oil seal(according to bike bandit). The circlip and thrust washer are on the outside of engine case, on the inside is the oil seal and needle bearing which are fitted around the gearchange shaft assembly.
