Stock Wind Screen or Tall???
Before I go buy a taller wind screen, I would like some feedback on the different ones out there. I have a stock and a tinted one, but how many of us prefer to have a taller one? Does the taller screen make a huge difference? Does it make the wind quieter? Any feedback is exremely welcome, and thanks in advance. Plus, if it makes any difference to a taller person it would be nice to know since I'm 6'3".

drakewn, I installed a taller windscreen on the '04 to stop my spare HJC helmet from lifting. It actually mimics the angle of attack of the '02 D955i here. At 145 MPH it does create a cell of calm...odd sensation.

Ya, I get that 'cell of calm' at those speeds too (it's a beautiful thing!). But since I've never been on an '04, are you saying there is that much of a difference between those years? And in that case a taller windscreen on an '02 would make even a bigger difference?

I've got an '04 also, and put on a double bubble. Everything I've read about the '04 with the DB, it makes it very similar to the lines of the 02-03. So if I had to make an educated guess the 02-03 version with a DB would divert the wind higher. I don't think I'd go back to the stock windshield after having the DB installed.
Hope this helps.

drakewn, The '04 OEM windscreen design was flattened out. Here's a poor pic of the difference:

Thanks for that pic Brad, I never realized how different those years are. I guess I'll probably just get one and try it out for myself.

From one tall guy to another (I'm 6'5'')...get the double bubble. I ran a Puig on mine and loved it. It creates much better airflow, especially at highway speeds. Here's a couple pics from mine:

At this point it's 5:4 in favor of the stock screen. I would sure like to hear from those voting for the stock screen as to why?

I voted for the stock screen for the following reasons:
1. I have a 03, no need for a taller screen
2. I'm 5' 9", no need for a taller screen
3. DB looks like that crap I wiped from the bottom of my shoe this morning,
In all seriousness here's how I would approach this problem, are you having a issue with wind in connection to the stock screen? If yes, buy a higher screen, if not, leave well enough alone.
Michael

Thanks for all the comments and voting, I'm staying with the stock style for now. I thought if it would make a world of difference in any aspect then I would try one out. I'm gonna spend my allowance on some new rubber instead. And don't worry, I'm not gonna start a new poll for tires, cuz we all know that one's been beat to death, lol.
Thanks again, no more votes needed.
