I really enjoy my Daytona...I can pull up to any group of riders, harley..sportbike, it doesn't matter, they all usually like the machine, the quality put into the bike is awesome, I have rode some other lighter sport bikes and they rattle and just feel like a pile of junk, but then I am also a 140lb 5'8" rider and maneuvering my daytona around at low speeds is a huge chore, sometimes very annoying especially with a passenger on the back, it handles well but the weight is crazy, I know most of the quality that I like about the bike also helps add those extra pounds, for example the clutch and brake reservoir's on the handle bars are aluminum, on other sport bikes they are a stupid looking plastic reservoir that flops around, I priced a new chain for my cycle a while back..$200 for it...well if it didn't weigh so much they wouldn't need that massive chain...I just get frustrated at times, it's heavy, slow, and pricey..but I love it.
Just rambling on a bit, have been debating on posting this for a while, but wasn't sure if it was appropriate. I wasn't sure if anyone else might be in the same predicament as I am

THATS EXACTLY HOW I AM. MY BIKE IS NINE YEARS OLD AND STILL LOOKS BETTER THEN SOME OF THE NEW BIKES. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO PARTS OR SERVICE ITS NUTS. I WENT THE OTHER DAY TO ORDER THE DAYTONA STICKERS FOR THE
UPPER AND LOWER FAIRINGS, $200.00. THATS THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE PARTS COST MORE THEN THE JAPANESE BIKES, SOME ARE BETTER MADE BUT SOME OF THE
JAPANESE PARTS COST A LOT MORE TO MAKE. I DONT KNOW WHAT YOURS WEIGHS BUT MINE IS 500 LBS AND I THINK 400
OF IT IS ON THE TOP.

They are good looking bikes. People seem to think its newer than it looks. My 98 is in the 400 lb range and not very big, thats why I like it. I had a GSXR 1100 and would pic the Daytona over the Suzuki hands down.

If you want to make that T3 more tossable, invest in some better suspension componants. It will transform that motorcycle. It will make it much more manuverable in all situations and much more flickable in the corners...

You should be comparing your parts prices to other Euro bikes, not Jap bikes. In comparison to Ducati and BMW, I think you'll find Triumph parts reasonable....

I bought my '95 Daytona 900 last year and learned quickly that this beast weighs a ton, but I love it. I feel more comfortable riding over the many Bay Area bridges. Luckily, my bike usually starts right up, but just last week I had to try and push start it.....let's just say it was a workout (after the fourth or fifth try, I just gave up....it was either that or pass out).Lol

I'm afraid I have had to push the Super III a couple of times. It was NOT fun in the least. As long as it is a level grade it is OK but if it's up hill, forget it!
