I have already recently left a posting about a rebuild / custom job I am doing on a stolen recovered 1999 Daytona 955i. I am at the evry final stage now which is doing some rewiring & removal of the old alarm system.

I have been advised by a self proclaimed triumph expert that when I rebuild it I will be unable to get it started without visiting a Triumph dealer. This is apparently due to the fact that I have removed the fuel tank which automatically trips a sensor that affects the ECU.

This sounds more than a little unusual, but as my first Triumph I am a little concerned. Any knowledge on this would be greatfully received.

I am looking forward to sharing pictures of it fully rebuilt within a week or so.

Thanks in advance.

Gary

The "check engine" light will be on but if all is well it will go off after 3 warm-up and cool-down cycles.

Thanks guys.

It sounded like an unlikely mod to encourage owners into dealer's to get work done.

All being well we will be up & running next week.

I am looking forward to posting some pictures as it has had quite alot of work to make it a bit special.
