I took my Daytona home last night after having the dealing install risers and thye left a uge amount of play in the throttle - very irritating. I don't see any obvious way to adjust the slack, and I would really prefer not to have to go back and see those bone heads. What's involved in throttle cable adjustment?

The T3s have a thumb screw at the base of the throttle where the cable enters the switch gear. Does the T5 have that?

Nope. No sign of anything familiar like that. I was thinking perhaps it's at the other end of the cable.

look at your throttle cables (there should be two). Follow them down toward the frame. On one of them there is going to be a bulge. That is a rubber cover over the adjuster. Slide that down, and under that is how you adjust it. You will need a 8mm and a 10mm wrench. Loosen the larger nut and adjust the longer one until the play is gone. Remember to do this with the bike OFF. Once you think you have it where you like it snap the throttle a couple of time to make sure it is right and the tighten up the larger nut. Once again MAKE SURE THE BIKER IS OFF AND THE KEY IS OFF or you will flood your bike.

good luck,

Mike
