Daytona electrical problem

wonder if anyones had this before?

got new battery, put it on bike wouldn't start. Its like starter not engaging. Just clicks like a flat battery. put battery on optimiser, still same. The numbers on speedo keep flashing till bike is warm then the are ok. Im guessing some charging prob. If battery is that low wont it affect dash lights, Runs ok if it is bumped
Have checked the usual suspects re installed battery etc but nothing is having any effect. any ideas? Mechanics stumped so must be electrical prob !

cheers

Check your battery connectors. Make sure they are clean and tight. Battery, motor ground, starter and starter relay.

Can I ask, why did you buy a new battery? Did the bike have this problem before you fitted it?

Was the new battery charged? Not all batteries are delivered charged. Have you run it long enough that it should have gotten a good charge?
