I was just wondering if anybody out there was unhappy with the stock Bridgestone 010s'? Ive never had Bridgestone tires before on a bike and I have to say I don't really care for them on the Daytona(which confuses me because a lot of people REALLY like them). I understand that you shouldn't be able to really push the limits of a sportbike tire on the street, but Ive locked up the front tire way more times than I think I should have (not doing stoppies or anything, just agressive braking) and the rear tire always wants to give out while leaned over. I really don't think the suspension is at fault here - it just seems to me like the tires suck. Im thinking about putting some Diablos or Sportec M1's on the bike? Has anybody had any experience with these tires and/or any comments?

I ran the Batlax tires on a GSXR1100. The price was right for my income at the time. I run Diablos on my Daytona and like them alot better than the Batlax. The only other brand of tire that I'm considering are the AVON brand.

Had a set on the S3 for a while - found the front wanted to push! Whether the compound is too hard or what but found a decided confidence issue with them. Me thinks Avons or Dunlop - why, because they inspire a riders confidence - or at least for this rider! I remember back in the 70's when the new Japanese bikes started flooding the market, all the talk was that Bridgestone rubber was crap - that's always lingered - plus regardless of what is OEM - Triumph should be shod with Avons, Dunlop, Michelin or Pirelli - but then I also like fine English shoes! :-D FWIW!

Yep, can't say the 010s gave me a whole lot of confidence on the front - wasn't unhappy, but wouldn't use again! Mind you, have just renewed with 014s and I'm well pleased with them. A bit of tweeking with tyre pressures and slight softening of suspension has also helped.

All that said, my TT600 came shod with BT010s and those things stick like glue -- all the confidence in the world. Also had the typical 010/020 setup on my BMW R1100S and that thing, again, had all the feel I could ask for and then some.
Not sure what I want as my next Daytona 900 tire, but thanks for starting the debate for me early! :-D

I put about 7500 miles on my BT010’s before replacing them. I really liked them. Very good in the rain too-
I replaced them with the new Metzler Z6 tires. So far so good, but I’ve only had them on for a week or two...
BT010’s are good rubber-

I've only got about 900 miles on mine so far, but they seem like a nice sticky tire so far. I've heard earlier versions of them wore a little wavy off the center of the tire. Which gave it an unsettled feeling when heeled over. I guess time will tell. I had Michelin Pilot Sports on my last bike, good feel, no surprises, even wear, & no complaints there at all. My friend got almost 13,000 miles out of his Pilot Road rear on his Sprint. So if the 010's don't measure up its back to the Michelins for me.
