Will disconnecting the battery erase the tune stored in the bike?

I don't have a FI bike, but I have not heard of the tune being erased with the battery disconected.

I had the tune updated, and then I had to replace the battery. Ever since it seems like it doens't run as well. Maybe its my imagination...I dunno.

Maybe you had the tune updated on a marginal battery. I could always tell when my car battery was going bad because my fuel mileage would drop. (My bike isn't fuel injected either.) The computer won't read the sensor inputs and run the map properly. Perhaps the reverse cound be true.
The computer may not accept the tune on a marginal battery the same as on fully charged battery. A lower than recommended voltage might shift the map slightly.
Check with whoever loaded the tune and see if this is possible. Maybe you can convince him to reload the tune for nothing. :???:
