OK here's a new one for me. The first time I took my '02 Daytona 955 out of hibernation for its first Spring ride, the check engine light came on for a few miles. There were no symptoms of any problems-- temp was normal on a warm day. It went out after about 40 miles. I haven't checked any fluids yet but there were no leaks over the winter and it was checked by the dealer about 500 miles ago. Any ideas?

The same thing happens to me. It's a low battery fault that I experience that would be my first look. The dealer can reset it

I wouldnt worry about it too much as long as the bike is operating normally. You shouldnt have to take it to a dealership though. The light is suppose to reset itself after three heat cycles. Hope this helps!
