New Thunderbird Owner

I’ve been with Rat for 6 years since owning an America and Sprint RS. It’s a great website offering a wealth of information.

Well, early in the year I saw a pic of the new Triumph Thunderbird…Hmmm.
And one April weekend during the Laughlin Run, I was debating on selling Bonnie (the Sprint could care less, he just loved speed)! What a Tough Decision…eventually I found great homes for both bikes and purchased the Thunderbird (ready in early December).

She’s jet black, a solo rider with the blend of cruise and sport (engine bar with black stealth driving lights, big bore, and short pipes). Harley won’t know if I’m coming or going!!

Does anyone plan to ride Sturgis in 2010 (70th anniversary)? I’d like run with a Triumph group!

Prescott, AZ

Congrats Azfun. I hate hearing guys say they won't have thiers for a time. I know it's gotta be torture. It was torture for me when i knew they were in but i couldn't find one. I never ordered, just found one unaccounted for and bought it on the spot. I think like the rest you will be a lot more impressed with it once you have ridden it a while. They are great from the start, but they really grow on you big time as you discover just how good they are. Here's to december !

Oh, as to sturgis, not me. Thats a bit too far, could never get away from work for that long, and i'm not sure i could stand being around so many HD riding tough guy wannabes !

I've read about your nice bikes and great handling...can't wait.

Eventually, a wind screen will be ordered but not sure what.

I need to check with the tech forum.

Congrats... from Phoenix!!

We've gone down a similar track. I had a Sprint and then an America and then fell in love with the t-bird and went for it a few weeks ago.

Where did you buy yours? There is another one up in Sedona. We should get together and meet on a ride, I come up to Prescott all the time... Not sure I'm planning on a RAT raid to Sturgis though. But I hear there is some rally in Prescott in May? Know anything about that one?

Hey Mbonadio and Traveler501,

…nice to meet you!

I bought the Thunderbird from Arizona Superbike in Chandler…good people.

Getting together next year is a definite! We could cruise the Sedona/Prescott Loop, hit the old mining town “Jerome” and have some fun….

And maybe someday roll into Buddy Stubs Harley Davidson, Phoenix for their big BBQ…can’t turn down a free meal.

…honestly, the Harley bikers I’ve met so far respect the Triumph.

Cheers

Excellent - I think it would be a blast to get a ride organized for the AZ (and Southwest) Thunderbirds!
