G'day all from Australia. Purchased a new T-Bird a couple of weeks ago and need to take it in for first service tomorrow. Man what a bike. Had to trade in my 06 America after I had done a bunch of work on it and thought it really moved out, but this T-Bird will tear the frame out of that America with the torque it's got. I'v ridden a bunch of Harleys in the past all of which had some balls too, but the T Bird is just too much. Only a mad man would buy a Harley when he can buy a T-Bird instead.

At any rate will discuss with the dealer tomorrow about downloading the TORS mapping on standard pipes and putting in a K&N. Sounds like that might work with the standard pipes (based on what you guys have already posted on this sight).

Lucky you I have to wait till Feb Ordered mine in Sept, when I pick it up it will have BB kit and short Tors as well as plenty of chrome

Hey Mr Stang, I'm here in Sydney. Good to see another Aussie with a TBird.

Well I had the service done and the new tuning installed. The dealer had ordered the K&N but it hadn't arrived so I'm off there next week hopefully. I have to say that the bike pulls better with the new tuning and revs more freely. There were no issues with the tuning install. The dealer did say that there maybe other tunes available on the net but that use of these or downloading these onto the bike will result in the ECM locking you out. In addition Triumph will not accept any liability under the warranty for things that may go wrong as a result of the install.

Also the issue of the leaky thermostat. This is one of the things that the dealer will address and said that Triumph have manufactured a replacement thermo, gasket and housing which has been ordered. I suspect that many new T-Bird owners will be back to the dealer to have this rectified.

Hey Mr Stang, got the bike from Camden Bike and Power. What happened was that I took out a test bike at Parramatta and after riding it figured that I had to have one. I then went to Camden and enquired about an aluminium silver. So happens that someone had put a deposit on one but then pulled out of the deal and I happened to walk in just after the deal fell through. So they sold it and I bought it and had to wait only a couple of days for set up etc.

The bike is aluminium silver with a black stripe. It was the colour I wanted. If I had wanted balck or blue, then you probably know the wait. Some guys are waiting up to April 2010 for their bikes.

Thanks for the offer of joining up with Ratbags. I'm in. Need to figure a way to overcome my wife getting the ****s with me going on rides though so I am happy to take advice.

Two easy ways.

1. Get her as pillion - you may want to get a better pillion seat however.
2. Get her a bike.
