Triumph America 2007 - Turn signals not working

Hello all,

newbie goof alert here. a little back ground on my mods. A few months ago I replaced the rear tail light with an LED version and also replaced the rear turn signals with retro non Led lights as well. I remember when I was installing I kept blowing fuses left and right I figured I was fat fingering the connections. Long story short the bulb for the parking light went out and I didn't care to replace it as I never use that. everything worked perfect after the install.

Bike turn signals were running perfect for months until I decided to paint the front light can which I did, upon reinstall I figured I would add a new bulb(194 type) in the headlight. once I put everything back together I was checking the light and all the lights work except the 4 Turn signals, I checked the fuses and they all seem ok. it seems to be connected to me adding the parking bulb or at least that's what I think. other than that what could I be messing up here??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

It is often a ground connection with elctrickery problems. I would start by rechecking anything that was disconnected or significantly disturbed when pulled thru the headlight bucket. Then remove the new bulb, verify the fuses and recheck things. Like the headlamp, turn signal front & rear, run/tail/tag and brake lights. If it is related to the parking light circuit it's not out of the question you may still have something unresolved at the rear modifications.

edit: I did just look at the wiring diagram. The front parking light is on the same circuit as the rear tail light.

Hi everyone I am rebuilding a 2007 Triumph America I went to upgrade the front turn signals with lights that only have one wire and of course the original turn signals have two so know I can not figure out how to install or connect any help would be appreciated.

Albert, if you only have the one wire for the new units, the housing itself must be working as the ground half of the electrical circuit. So that replacement unit must be connected to a metal surface that also works as a chassis ground.
Not sure which of the original wires you need but one will be a ground and the other the hot or powered lead. 50/50 chance and no harm from connecting it wrong at that point, they just would not work.

Best to start a new thread with your specific question, rather than hijack a 4 year old dead thread. You'll find the pricing plans for new threads is are surprisingly affordable.
