G'day guys,

thought some may be interested to see a tall sissy bar and rack on a Speedy. I looked for ages trying to find pictures of Speedmasters with various sized racks so i could decide what to get.....you can never look at too many pictures.

In any case, I just bought a tall rack and sissy bar of Ebay from a great bloke in Alabama - I've actually been to Alabama and can testify that all those I've spoken to from there have been great people - including the guy I bought the rack from.

Anyway....my main concern was that a tall bar may be "too tall"....many of the pics I looked at made it lok ridiculously high at times.

Let me tell you....in real life, the tall bar looks fantastic. It is just the right height - trust me. I looked for ages and thought it's be way too high, but to be honest, I reckon if I'd gotten a small one I'd have been disappointed. Even my wife said she'd hate to see a small one.

So.....without any more jibbering....here's a few pics.

Looks good Peter. I would say that isnt much taller than the one on my 07 America to be honest.

That's the same thing I have on my 08. My wife loves the fact that it isn't the little one and that she can really press into it and it doesn't hurt her lower back. The short one is much shorter and only came up to the lower back.

We got the tall sissy bar and rack for my wife's 2011 speedmaster. It's perfect for 2 up or for luggage. She never goes 2 up, but we do road trips a lot with luggage. Here are a couple of pics of the bike and a 2.2 cubic foot capacity Saddleman bag. It works perfect with the sissy bar since it has a sleeve for the backrest as well as other straps to snug it down securely.

I got the tall sissy bar and rack with i bought my America. It's very good for 2 up and luggage. Although once my girlfriend gets her own bike its gone.

PRM What seat is that you have on there?
that is not a stock speedmaster seat did you switch to the america seat? those do seem more comfortable for a passenger.

Yep....I bought an America pillion seat from someone on Ebay. It is much more comfortable for a pillion than the standard seat.

My daughter is 17 and loved riding pillion on a 30 year old Kawasaik 1000 I had, and it's seat was uncomfortable I thought.....but she hated the standard Speedmaster seat. The America one at least provides good riding if you're out for a few hours.

To anyone that's interested, I strongly recommend the TALL sissy bar. When i was looking I thought it may be too tall, but trust me.....you'll like it.

Thanks I think I might do that. My speedmaster came with a Corbin seat that is really comfortable for the driver but doesn't look like it will be any more comfortable for the passenger than the stock seat. I'll give it a try first as it is a nice seat but I think I'll be switching.
