Hi everyone. Just ordered an OEM Gel Solo Seat off the internet for my new Speedmaster 2012/13 (arriving next Monday). When i popped in to the dealer this morning he said that there isn't a solo gel seat for the SM anymore. Else where on the site i've seen conflicting ideas about this.

Has anybody fitted an OEM Solo Gel Seat (A9708171) to a 2012SM?

Gordon - see other post. Everyone including dealers and a few distributors have told me the solo seat won't fit the 2012 Speedmaster. But, I've never tried it myself. So, after you get your bike and try the solo seat, please let me know how hard it was to install and if you had any fitment issues. Post pics too, please.

I'll let everyone know what the outcome is. Hope it fits, otherwise the'll be a solo seat going cheap on ebay!

As promised I can confirm that you CAN fit older Speedmaster solo seats to the latest 2012 models. I just changed my standard seat on my new Speedie to the older solo seat. Fits perfectly and looks great.

The part number is A9708127. There is also the gel solo seat (A9708171). I bought mine from our local Triumph dealer in Malta. However I've seen it advertised on the British Customs website.

I'll post a couple of pictures tomorrow so that you can see what it looks like.

Nice. I put in an order for my Solo Seat on Saturday -- having a 20% discount for Black Friday was enough incentive for me to make the purchase. Can't wait till the seat arrives.

BTW, love the Matte Black on the 2013. Too bad they didn't have that available when I bought mine back in April.

Did you also get the Teardrop Mirrors?
