what size rear rim

im put a spoked wheel on my speed master it has a 15 now can i go to a 5.5 wide and a 17" rim whithout making ny mods

I bought a 17"X4.25" spoker from an early model Tiger & run a 160X60X17 Avon StormII.
Straight swap & the narrower tire still appears wider than the stock unit.
